Cardinals, Jets both on the upswing as they prepare to meet in Arizona

The Arizona Cardinals have looked like a different team over the past few weeks, winning three straight games for the first time since 2021 to ascend into first place in the NFC We...

James Conner - Limited again Thursday Conner (finger) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Conner is averaging 18.4 touches for 92.3 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring four rushing TDs in nine appearances this season. He has yielded some reps at times to reserve RBs Emari Demercado and Trey Benson, but their usage has been up and down while Conner has maintained his workload throughout the campaign. Having said that, Conner had a cap on his practice reps Wednesday and Thursday due to a finger injury, meaning his status will continue to be monitored as the week goes on.

Cardinals vs. Jets Injury Report – Week 10, 2024

See who's in and who's out for the Week 10 matchup between the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals on November 10, 2024.

Cardinals vs. Jets Injury Report – Week 10, 2024
Naquan Jones - Appears past thigh injury Jones (thigh) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact Gershman was sidelined for the Cardinals' Week 9 win over the Bears due to a thigh injury. His ability to practice without limitations Wednesday indicates that, barring any setbacks, he should be able to play against the Jets on Sunday. Should he play, Jones would reclaim his starting spot at defensive tackle alongside Roy Lopez while Khyiris Tonga provides rotational depth.
NOVEMBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Darius Robinson - Continues to sit out of practice Robinson (calf) did not practice Wednesday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact Robinson opened the regular season on injured reserve due to a calf injury he sustained during the final week of training camp. He was activated off IR on Oct. 28, but he hasn't been able to practice since. Unless he's able to log at least a limited practice session this week, it's unlikely Robinson will suit up against the Jets on Sunday.
NOVEMBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Sean Murphy-Bunting - Able to practice Wednesday Murphy-Bunting (neck) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact Murphy-Bunting has been sidelined for the Cardinals' last two regular-season games due to a neck injury. His ability to practice without limitations Wednesday indicates that he is trending towards playing against the Jets on Sunday. Murphy-Bunting has logged 24 tackles (12 solo), two pass breakups and one interception over seven regular-season games.

James Conner - Dealing with finger issue Conner was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a finger injury, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact Conner got a concussion check this past Sunday versus the Bears but was cleared to return. In the wake of his fifth 100-yard performance from scrimmage of the season, he's now tending to a different health concern. As a result, Conner's status will continue to be monitored as Arizona prepares to host the Jets on Sunday.

Kyzir White - Five tackles vs. Chicago White finished Sunday's 29-9 win over the Bears with five tackles (three solo), including 0.5 sacks.
Impact White logged his first sack of the season Sunday, as he combined with Zaven Collins for a two-yard sack on Caleb Williams on the final play of the third quarter. Through the first nine games of the regular season, White has registered 67 tackles (27 solo), including 0.5 sacks, two pass breakups and one interception.

Some of the NFL trades before the 2023 deadline worked out better than others.

A look back at the 7 biggest 2023 NFL trade deadline deals, one year later
Chad Ryland - Strikes true on all five kicks Ryland connected on both field-goal attempts and all three point-after tries during Sunday's 29-9 victory over the Bears.
Impact With his successful 55-yard field goal in the fourth quarter Sunday, Ryland now has made 50-plus yarders in back-to-back games, and he's so far missed just one kick (a 45-yard FGA that was blocked and returned for a TD in Week 5 at San Francisco) in five games subbing in for the injured Matt Prater (knee). Prater must miss at least one more contest while on injured reserve, so Ryland again is poised to handle placekicking duties for the Cardinals this coming Sunday against the Jets.
NOVEMBER 5 • ROTOWIRE
Greg Dortch - No catches Sunday Dortch didn't haul in his only target and returned four punts for 65 yards during Sunday's 29-9 win over the Bears.
Impact Dortch remains the Cardinals' No. 3 wide receiver, but in an offense that funnels most of the targets to rookie first-round WR Marvin Harrison, TE Trey McBride and RB James Conner, there often aren't enough targets otherwise for the remaining Cardinals' skill talent to yield weekly output. As evidence, Dortch has combined for a 6-57-1 line on 12 targets over the last five contests, leaving him well outside of the fantasy conversation.
NOVEMBER 5 • ROTOWIRE
Elijah Higgins - Notches two catches in Week 9 Higgins caught both of his targets for 34 yards during Sunday's 29-9 victory versus the Bears.
Impact Higgins continues to be minimally involved as a pass catcher, with Sunday's season high in receiving yards fueled by a 23-yard catch that surpassed any of his single-game tallies from the first eight games of the campaign. However, in a contest in which QB Kyler Murray attempted only 20 passes, Higgins nearly matched No. 1 TE Trey McBride's 3-35-0 line on four targets. Aside from recording no targets Week 6, Higgins has managed one or two receptions in each of his eight other outings, leaving him on the outside looking in to relevance in the Cardinals offense.

Michael Wilson - Blanked in Week 9 Wilson didn't gather in his only target during Sunday's 29-9 victory against the Bears
Impact In a game in which the Cardinals were having their way with the Bears on the ground, Wilson and his fellow pass catchers were on the receiving end of only 20 passes from QB Kyler Murray versus 34 carries overall as a team. As a result, Wilson didn't record a catch for the first time in nine contests this season, and his single target marked a campaign low. Even rookie first-round WR Marvin Harrison (2-34-0 on five targets) and stellar third-year TE Trey McBride (3-35-0 on four targets) were unable to produce much in the passing game, so Wilson's lacking performance is somewhat justified. Still, Wilson will look to get back in the box score this coming Sunday versus the Jets.
NOVEMBER 5 • ROTOWIRE
Xavier Thomas - Disrupts backfield in win Thomas finished with three tackles (two solo), including 1.5 sacks and a tackle for a loss, in Sunday's 29-9 win over the Bears.
Impact The linebacker also played on 35 percent of the defensive snaps as he continues to share time with Julian Okwara as Arizona's third linebacker. Thomas and Okwara were the next men up after Dennis Gardeck suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the Cardinals' Week 7 win over the Chargers.
NOVEMBER 5 • ROTOWIRE
Emari Demercado - Records first touchdown of season Demercado took four carries for 59 yards and one touchdown and hauled in both targets for 21 yards during Sunday's 29-9 win versus the Bears.
Impact Aside from a 53-yard TD run late in the first half, Demercado was relatively quiet, gaining 27 yards on his five other touches. He also ranked third among Cardinals running backs in snap share (24 percent) behind starter James Conner (48 percent) and rookie Trey Benson (28 percent). All three players produced, with Conner leading the way with 21 touches for 119 yards from scrimmage, while Benson had nine touches for 55 total yards and a TD on the ground. The preceding won't happen most weeks, though, leaving Demercado on the outside looking in at fantasy relevance without some sort of absence from Conner.
