GAME LOG

Scores on lone catch Week 11 Egbuka gathered in one of three targets for 10 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 45-0 win versus Purdue.
Impact Egbuka had easily his quietest outing of the season. His late 10-yard touchdown salvaged his fantasy numbers somewhat, but it's rather concerning for his fantasy value that he's now totaled just 10 targets over the last three games. Egbuka started with 32 targets over the first three games of conference play, but his production was clearly impacted during back-to-back tough outings versus Nebarska in Week 9 and Penn State in Week 10. He'll look to bounce back during next week's road game at Northwestern.

Catches TD versus Penn State Egbuka caught all three targets for 31 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 20-13 win versus Penn State.
Impact Egbuka got the Buckeyes on the board when he hauled in a wide-open 25-yard touchdown pass late in the first quarter. The graduate senior wideout clearly didn't make much of an impact elsewhere, but the Buckeyes' passing game had a modest outing overall as quarterback Will Howard went 16-for-24 passing for 182 yards and two touchdowns to one interception. Egbuka has now scored six touchdowns in five games against Big Ten teams this season. But, he's totaled just six catches (on seven targets ) for 51 receiving yards across the last two weeks. He'll hope to get more looks during what should be a blowout win against Purdue this coming Saturday.

Logs 20 yards in late win Egbuka posted three receptions (on four targets) for 20 yards during Saturday's 21-17 victory over Nebraska.
Impact Egbuka logged season-lows across the board in this uncharacteristically choppy performance for the Buckeyes' offense. Quarterback Will Howard threw a season-low 16 passes and hit wideouts Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate for touchdowns of 40 and 60 yards, respectively. Egbuka still leads the team in targets this season with 56, and he scored a touchdown in each of the four games prior to Saturday's contest. He'll likely need to have a big game along with the entire Buckeyes' receiving corps in order to knock off No. 3 Penn State on the road this coming Saturday.

Totals 113 yards in loss Egbuka hauled in all 10 targets for 93 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 32-31 loss against Oregon.
Impact Egbuka logged exactly 10 targets for the third week in a row, and he recorded his first two rushing attempts of the season. The fifth-year senior has been extremely sure-handed with 40 catches on 50 targets this season, and he's come through with five receiving touchdowns over three games versus conference opponents. Meanwhile, true freshman standout Jeremiah Smith continued to capture the biggest headlines with nine catches (on 13 targets) for 100 yards and a touchdown. Egbuka also caught two crucial passes to help put the Buckeyes in field-goal range on their final offensive series. Expect Egbuka and Smith to continue seeing the vast majority of targets from quarterback Will Howard moving forward.

Tallies three scores versus Iowa Egbuka hauled in nine of 10 targets for 71 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 35-7 win versus Iowa.
Impact Egbuka logged exactly 10 targets for the second week in a row, but he more than doubled his touchdown total this season against a stingy Iowa defense. The graduate senior also caught all but one of quarterback Will Howards' four touchdowns passes, hauling in scores of 14, 15 and three yards. This included scores on back-to-back offensive series in the late third and early fourth quarters. Egbuka has seemingly emerged as the Buckeyes' top target despite the presence of freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith, who also scored one touchdown on five targets Saturday. Egbuka and Smith have now caught all but two of Howard's 12 touchdown passes this season. They'll likely have to play major roles during next week's heavyweight road game against No. 3 Oregon.

Logs season-high 10 targets Week 5 Egbuka reeled in 7 of 10 targets for 96 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 38-7 victory against Michigan State.
Impact Egbuka logged double-digit targets for the first time since Week 4 of last season. The graduate senior finished with team-highs in targets and receptions, and he notched his second touchdown in as many weeks with a 33-yard score on a 4th-and-5 pass from Will Howard late in the third quarter. Egbuka has now rattled off three-straight productive outings since his quiet four-catch season opener. He could have a tough time keeping this rolling during next week's home game against a tough defensive opponent in Iowa.

Finds the end zone Week 4 Egbuka caught all five of targets for 117 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 49-14 win over Marshall.
Impact Egbuka scored his first touchdown of the season to put the Buckeyes on the board in the first quarter. The graduate senior took a quick screen pass through a well-blocked alley over the middle of the field for a 68-yard touchdown. Egbuka also led Ohio State's receiving corps in targets, receptions and yards for the second game in a row, though the team still had a balanced target share for freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith (four) and Carnell Tate (four). The Buckeyes have yet to be tested against a conference opponent this season, but it's fair to expect that Egbuka and Smith will serve as the clear-cut top options in the passing game. They'll look to make another statement win during this coming Saturday's conference opener at Michigan State.

Better production Week 2 Egbuka tallied five receptions (on eight targets) for 98 yards during Saturday's 56-0 victory over Western Michigan.
Impact Egbuka didn't see a significant shift in his own target share, though he actually wound up leading the Buckeyes in catches and targets Week 2. The senior still was not on the receiving end of either of the team's two passing touchdowns Saturday. Instead, freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith caught a 70-yard touchdown from starting QB Will Howard, and junior tight end Bennett Christian linked up with third-string QB Julian Sayin for another score late in the fourth quarter. Egbuka caught a career-high 10 touchdown passes during the 2022 campaign before logging five scores across 10 contests last year. Unless he starts to find the end zone more, his fantasy value could be relatively limited in what could end up being a rush-first defense for Ohio State this year.
SEPTEMBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Seven targets Week 1 Egbuka totaled four receptions (on seven targets) for 51 yards during Saturday's 52-6 victory against Akron.
Impact Egbuka averaged 6.4 targets per game last season with Kyle McCord under center for the Buckeyes. This workload didn't seem to change much at all with Kansas State transfer Will Howard in as the new QB1 for the team Saturday. Egbuka even seemed to once again fulfill a role as WR2, as true freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith starred immediately with six catches (nine targets) for 92 yards and two touchdowns Week 1. After losing star wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. to the NFL Draft, it appears the Buckeyes could be set with yet another star pass-catcher to play alongside Egbuka in 2024. The graduate senior should still see a solid target share as the clear No. 2 wideout ahead of Carnell Tate, Jayden Ballard and Brandon Inniss.
