Sadly, most (read: all) of them fall short in the following key areas:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A) No Commercial Acumen<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In other words, they often succeed at ticking the boxes off a person\u2019s career against the description of a position, but they are almost never able to contextualise what this person can do for the employer.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, if you were to equate this situation to marketing a pharmaceutical product, you might say that this medicine is great because:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"arrow-wrapper\"><div class=\"arrow-list\"><ul><li><strong>It\u2019s<\/strong> compliant with all regulations.<\/li><li><strong>It\u2019s<\/strong> made in a best-in-class factory.<\/li><li><strong>It\u2019s<\/strong> made with state-of-the-art technology.<\/li><li><strong>A 4-year<\/strong> Harvard study has been performed on it.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But you forget to actually say the most important thing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"indent-wrapper\"><div class=\"indented-text\"><span><em>\u201cIt will stop your headache in under 10 minutes.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>B) No Career Storyline.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This point is particularly important if you<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"arrow-wrapper\"><div class=\"arrow-list\"><ul><li><strong>Have<\/strong> a complex career history.<\/li><li><strong>Are<\/strong> at a senior level.<\/li><li><strong>Have<\/strong> gaps in your resume.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resumes without an overarching narrative are usually very keyword-heavy. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also tend to read as if a list of tasks has been copied from a job description, then pasted into the document.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"indent-wrapper\"><div class=\"indented-text\"><span><em>You appear reasonably competent, but identical to your competition. There\u2019s nothing to differentiate you in a positive way.<\/em><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re a CFO, marketing manager, or sales assistant, you become a \u201cstandard issue\u201d candidate in a recruiter\u2019s inbox.<br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most traditional resume writers lack the marketing and branding chops necessary to prevent this situation from occurring. Don\u2019t forget that you, too, are a brand.<\/span><span id=\"Whats_More_Important_Than_Money\"><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What&#8217;s Even More Important Than Money?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For many of us (<a href=\"https:\/\/arielle.com.au\/executive-job-search\/\">especially at the executive level<\/a>), getting the right job is important.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may have 2-3 jobs left in you, and you want to make them count. No, I didn\u2019t think so.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:37px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Three More Reasons To Hire A Top-Tier Resume Writer.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I haven&#8217;t convinced you yet?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A. You Are Tired Of Hearing Nothing Back.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You spent hours updating your resume in an effort to get it just right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But instead of landing an interview, you received one of those \u201cthanks, but no thanks\u201d emails in return. You make the most of your time.
