He left the role in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But then, Musk\u2019s ire was inflamed by the President\u2019s debt-raising \u2018One Big Beautiful Bill Act\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tesla CEO described the bill as \u201coutrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending.\u201d In June he posted to X:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"indent-wrapper\"><div class=\"indented-text\"><span><em>\u201cIt more than defeats all the cost savings achieved by the @DOGE team at great personal cost and risk.\u201d \u2014 Elon Musk<\/em><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The two powerhouses traded a series of snarky comments via social media, with Trump threatening to terminate Musk\u2019s government subsidies and contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the feud has since simmered down, for a period it did hurt Tesla\u2019s share price. Around $150 billion in market value was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cy902rv7q8do\">wiped out<\/a> in one day in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Musk bought $1 billion of Tesla stock back in September 2025 \u2014 which gave its share price a huge boost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Musk&#8217;s public divorce with Trump, Tesla has kept analysts sharply divided in 2026 &#8211; but the performance has been exceeding expectations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"arrow-wrapper\"><div class=\"arrow-list\"><ul><li><strong>Q1 results<\/strong> released in April beat analyst expectations with an EPS of $0.41 (vs. $0.36 expected) and revenue of $22.39 billion (up 16% YOY).<\/li><li><strong>Q2 results<\/strong> were more mixed. EPS of $0.3 missed Wall Street estimates of $0.51 &#8211; but revenue was up &#8211; $28.24 billion (up 26% year-over-year). That\u2019s what it comes down to in a nutshell.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Analyst&nbsp;price targets for TSLA over the next 12 months&nbsp;range from a low of US$20 to a high of US$600.
