Michael Mayer - Nearing return? Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said Monday that he thinks Mayer (personal) is "getting close" to a return, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Impact Mayer has been away from the team since late September and was placed on the non-football-illness list Oct. 11. He's eligible to return for Week 11, after a Week 10 bye, but it isn't yet clear if that will happen even with Pierce's recent optimism.

Impact In his return from a two-game absence, Meyers caught six of his seven targets for 52 yards and a TD in this past Sunday's loss to the Chiefs, while recording an 81 percent snaps share on offense. With no reported setbacks in the contest, there's a decent chance Meyers' listed limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related.

Impact It doesn't seem to be a major injury, considering White managed a limited practice and coach Antonio Pierce mentioned wanting to get the RB more work moving forward. Pierce said Wednesday that Alexander Mattison remains the starter but could cede more work to White, who showed "some positives last year" and now has "got to get out of his funk," per Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site. Realistically, both are better suited for backup roles, but it's possible the pendulum swings back to White at some point in the coming weeks.

Impact Spillane logged a team-leading 12 tackles (six solo) during the Raiders' Week 8 loss to the Chiefs. However, it appears he may have picked up a knee injury in the process, which was severe enough for him to sit out of Wednesday's practice. Spillane will have two more chances this week to practice in at least a limited capacity ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals. Spillane has logged 79 combined tackles through the first eight games of the regular season, which leads the Raiders and is tied with Budda Baker for fourth-most in the league.

Impact Despite finishing last week with a full practice Friday, Mauga was sidelined for a second straight game due to a knee injury. However, he wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, indicating that Mauga should be available for Sunday's game against the Bengals barring any setbacks. Mauga has served solely on special teams this season and has logged one tackle over five regular-season games.
