2025 MLB free-agent signing tracker, trades: Angels add Kevin Newman
Cardinals Plan To Fill Paul Goldschmidt Void at First Base In Most Shocking Way Possible The St. Louis Cardinals have revealed their plan to fill Paul Goldschmidt’s shoes and it probably wasn’t what you expected it to be.

Will not be given qualifying offer Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak confirmed Monday that the team will not extend Goldschmidt a one-year, $21.05 million qualifying offer, John Denton of MLB....
Impact It's been reported previously that the Cardinals are also not expected to negotiate with Goldschmidt on a lesser salary, so the veteran first baseman will be allowed to depart as a free agent. Goldschmidt slashed just .245/.302/.414 with 22 home runs in 2024 and turned 37 in September, but he should still draw some interest from clubs willing to take a shot on a bounce-back year in 2025.
NOVEMBER 4 • ROTOWIRE
Three-hit effort in loss Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Giants.
Impact Goldschmidt made two outs in the contest, and he generated an RBI on each of those plays. One was a sacrifice fly and the other was a groundout. He's batting .250 (9-for-36) over his last nine games and now has a .245/.301/.412 slash line with 22 home runs, 64 RBI, 70 runs scored, 11 stolen bases and 32 doubles over 153 contests.

Smacks 22nd homer Goldschmidt went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 10-8 loss to the Rockies.
Impact Goldschmidt went back-to-back with Lars Nootbaar in the first inning. This long ball ended a 19-game homer drought for Goldschmidt, who hit just .197 (13-for-66) in that span. The first baseman is up to 22 homers on the year, but his .241/.299/.403 slash line represents career-low numbers across the board. He's added 62 RBI, 69 runs scored and 11 stolen bases across 152 games.
SEPTEMBER 27 • ROTOWIRE
Posts another steal Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Pirates.
Impact Goldschmidt had a pair of singles and was knocked in by Brendan Donovan both times for the Cardinals' lone runs of the game. After going 0-for-9 over four games from Sept. 14-17, Goldschmidt has bounced back a bit. The first baseman is now batting .290 (18-for-62) in September and has a .246/.303/.412 slash line with 21 home runs, 60 RBI, 27 runs scored and 11 steals over 146 contests overall.
SEPTEMBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Reaches 10 steals Goldschmidt went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Pirates.
Impact Goldschmidt was held hitless for his fourth game in a row, but he was able to draw a walk for the fourth time in eight contests. The first baseman's steal was his 10th of the year -- he's reached double digits in three of the last four seasons and a total of eight times in his 14-year career. Goldschmidt has added a mediocre .244/.303/.410 slash line with 21 home runs, 59 RBI and 63 runs scored through 144 contests in what's been the worst season of his career by many metrics.
SEPTEMBER 18 • ROTOWIRE
Not starting Sunday Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Impact Goldschmidt will receive Sunday off after a stretch of 18 straight starts, during which he batted .391 with 10 doubles, two homers and 10 RBI. Alec Burleson will shift to first base while Luken Baker serves as the designated hitter in the series finale at Toronto.

Cracks 21st homer Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and three RBI in Tuesday's 7-4 victory at Milwaukee.
Impact The former MVP stretched the St. Louis lead to 2-0 in the second with an RBI double, his 27th two-bagger of the season. Goldschmidt returned in the fourth inning to launch a 430-foot solo shot off Aaron Civale. The free-agent-to-be has caught fire lately, hitting .342 (26-for-76) with four homers, nine doubles, 13 RBI and five runs scored over his last 20 games. Overall, he is now slashing .247/.305/.420 with 21 homers, 58 RBI, 61 runs scored and nine stolen bases across 568 plate appearances.

Three more hits Sunday Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with two doubles in Sunday's 14-7 win over the Yankees.
Impact Remarkably, Goldschmidt didn't have an RBI or a run in the high-scoring contest, but he did his part to keep the line moving. The first baseman has gone 16-for-30 (.533) during his eight-game hitting streak, which has seen him produce a quartet of three-hit efforts. For the year, Goldschmidt is slashing .244/.302/.409 with 20 home runs, 55 RBI, 60 runs scored, 25 doubles and eight stolen bases over 130 contests. It's too late to fully salvage what's been a challenging year, but he can still help fantasy managers if he stays hot in September.

Stays hot in loss Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Yankees.
Impact Goldschmidt has looked like his younger self lately, notching a trio of three-hit efforts over his last four games. He's also knocked in at least one run in five straight games for his longest RBI streak of the season. The first baseman is batting .240 -- his highest mark since April 4 -- with a .703 OPS, 20 home runs, 55 RBI, 60 runs scored, 22 doubles and eight stolen bases over 128 contests.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Another three-hit effort Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Padres.
Impact Goldschmidt has logged back-to-back three-hit efforts for the first time this year. Three of his five games with three or more hits have come in August, though he's still hitting a mediocre .247 (20-for-81) this month. The first baseman is up to a .235/.295/.396 slash line with 20 home runs, 53 RBI, 60 runs scored, eight stolen bases and 20 doubles over 126 contests.
