Fans three for 22nd save Scott picked up the save in a win over the White Sox on Saturday, allowing one hit and one walk over a scoreless ninth inning while striking out three.
Impact Scott took the mound in the top of the ninth with a four-run lead and got the first two batters to go down on strikes before allowing a single to Chuckie Robinson and then a walk to Miguel Vargas. However, the right-handed reliever managed to get the last batter to go down swinging for the final out, notching his 22nd save of the campaign and only his second this month. It also marked Scott's fourth outing this season in which he posted at least three strikeouts and he now carries a robust 17:5 K:BB in September.

Records save Wednesday Scott picked up a save against Houston on Wednesday by retiring both batters he faced, including one by strikeout.
Impact Dylan Cease gave San Diego 8.1 scoreless frames, and Scott was brought in to finish off the Astros with a pair of runners on base in the ninth. The reliever struck out Yordan Alvarez, then got Alex Bregman to fly out to end the game. The save was Scott's 21st of the season but his first since Aug. 27, as most of his saves came while he was with Miami prior to the trade deadline. Robert Suarez remains the most likely Padres reliever to handle save chances for the club.

Impact The southpaw fired 10 of 15 pitches for strikes as he collected his second save since being traded to the Padres. Robert Suarez was unavailable after pitching each of the prior two days, but he's also been tagged for a run in four of his last eight appearances. If Suarez's struggles continue, Scott could get the call in the ninth more frequently over the final weeks of the season as San Diego looks to lock down a playoff spot.

Wild in relief Wednesday Scott (7-5) was credited with the win against Pittsburgh on Wednesday despite allowing two runs (one earned) on no hits and three walks in one-third of an inning.
Impact Scott entered with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning and got Oneil Cruz to ground out to preserve a 6-6 tie and send the game to an extra frame. After San Diego took a three-run lead in the top of the 10th, Scott returned but couldn't find the plate, walking three straight batters to force home a run. Adrian Morejon then took over and allowed an inherited runner to score on a wild pitch before finding a way out of the jam, notching his first save and handing Scott the victory. Despite the win, the outing was an uncharacteristically poor one for Scott, who threw only six of 18 pitches for strikes. He's given up three runs (two earned) over three appearances consisting of 2.2 frames since joining San Diego at the trade deadline but still has an impressive 1.49 overall ERA on the campaign.

Traded to San Diego The Padres acquired Scott from the Marlins on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact It's not clear yet what the Marlins will receive in return. Scott has been viewed as the best reliever that was expected to be traded at the deadline and gives the Padres a stellar back-end of the bullpen along with Robert Suarez and Jason Adam. It's not clear yet how manager Mike Shildt plans to handle the closer role.
